To those Buzzard families who claimed a connection to Blackfeet. I recently came into my possession Vol 1&2 Of Indian Blood by Richard Pangburn in Vol 1 pg76-79 is the following info...BLACKHOOF/BLACKFOOT is a Shawnee name and a family which intermarried with whites.This name came from a chief named Blackhoof,Settlers in Kentucky called him Blackfoot. He succeeded Blackfish as chief Of the Shawnee. It was belived he was borm in Florida and moved north during a removal of Shawnees into Ohio and Pennsyvania. He was present at the defeat Of General Braddock in 1755. Will be pleased to do lookups from these vols.
