Copelands in/near Chatham Co., NC

My great great grandmother, Margaret (nee Wilkerson) Johnson, was born in either Chatham County or one of the neighboring counties in NC between 1810 and 1815. Her mother was a Copeland. Family legend had it that both of Margaret's parents came from Ireland, that "Peggy" was born aboard the ship or shortly after their arrival, that her mother died during or immediately after her birth, and that her father returned to Ireland after leaving his infant daughter in the care of unknown persons in NC. Closer investigation in recent years shows that her mother was probably born in NC, that her parents met after her father's immigration from Ireland, and that he did indeed go back to the Emerald Isle after Peggy's birth. It also appears that Peggy was raised by her mother's relatives after her mother died. I unfortunately have no given name for either of Grandma Peggy's parents. Does anyone have record of a Copeland who married a Wilkerson in the area of Chatham County in the years immediately before 1815?
