William Ralph Harris Sea Captain

On Thursday 19th January 1854 by special license at St Clement's Church Yass William Ralph Harris, only son of the late Captain Harris of Java and Mary Purcell, married Miss Sarah Varney of Regent's Park, London. I am seeking information about Captain Harris of Java. There is a story that he was the captain of a ship between London and Sydney when the Spaniads killed him and took the ship from him. As the story has been passed down through generations, there is some truth to it, however, just how much I don't know. I really would like to know the whole story.
