I,m really having a hard time finding any info for this family. My connection to Joseph Lane Jr. is that he was married to my mother. I am adding what I know in hopes that someone somewhere will recognise something!
Joseph Clarence Lane Jr. was b. Oct. 17, 1912 to Joseph Clarence Lane Sr. and wife, unknown first name, Nichols. My mother, Evelyn Ione Bliss b. Mar. 18, 1913 L.A., Ca. married Clarence Aug 5, 1935 in Prescott, Az. His parents lived there. His father was a tailor and and worked at that. They also owned or managed an Auto Court and Mrs. Lane ran that. They moved to White Oak, Oklahoma in May of 1936 and lived on a farm. I have pictures of Joe Sr. and his wife as well as her father, Mr. Nichols. Other pictures of a "Skelly" gas station with my Mom and Clarence in a Skelly uniform and written on the picture is;"Our Skelly Station in Disney, Okla. Another picture is Clarence and his brother, Brooks, both in Skelly uniforms. There was another brother, younger than Clarence and Brooks named Billy. These are all taken from 1936 through 1940. Also in the picture album is a piece from a newspaper of a cousin of Clarence, George Ralph Lane marrying a Miss.Louise Winsor in 1935. In the article it says the ceremony was at the Phoenix First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her mother is Mrs. G.A. Winsor. Other names in the article: The Bishop, John H. Udall. The brides maid, Miss Virginia Udall. The best man, Robert Brill. Dolly Lane - Esther Lane - Clarence Lane and many others.
Clarence Lane and my mother were married for five years and the devorce was granted in June of 1940, in Mayes Co., Oklahoma. Mother passed away in 1988 in Arizona where she and Clarence met and married. (My father died in 1964 in Kansas and Mother never remarried.) I would so love to know more about this family and contact any living relatives. Thanks in advance, Geri
