You are probably descended from Mathis or Matthew O'Barr. He was in Houston, Miss after the Civil war and his descendents are still in that area. My husband's great-grandfather, Jesse, was either a brother or cousin of this man. Jesse died in Houston in 1869. His wife remarried and this part of the family moved west. There is a Clay O'Barr who is also a descendent of Matthew. He lives in Biloxi, Miss. I have his e-mail address. so is you e-mail me back, I will send it on to you.
