am looking for ancesters of James Washington Smith, supposedly of Cherokee decsent, he was born 24 dec. 1859 in Sand mt. Al. believe parents were Joseph Smith and Joanna Gentry, if right oines, Joseph Smith was in confederate army under Colonel Stand Watie, need proof af this, any help would be greatly appreciated.
