My grandmother Ordella Jane Mumma 1900-1990 was married to Robert S. Ullom sometime around 1928 to 1930. They had one child my mother Mary Jane Ullom 1928-1990. I have one photograph of him holding me when I was three months old in 1957. I was told he drowned in that same year after driving his car off a bridge. I also know at some point he remarried and had another family my mother said she had a stepsister. I don't know where all these things occured however. The only other information I could get out of my mother was that after she had graduated from nursing school in the late forties she was asked by her father to go to South or North Carolina and take care of his mother or grandmother. My mother told me she was nothing but an old Indian squaw and refused to take baths. She stayed only a very short time and then returned to Florida. My grandmother and mother would speak very little about him. My grandmother was born in Dayton, Ohio. I believe this is where she married and possibly divorced Robert Ullom but she also lived in San Francisco and in Nevada during my mothers childhood. Perhaps some of this may help.
