Will of Sarah Rogers, widow of ?? Yates, gave property to sons Jeremiah A. Yates and Joseph Yates, other property, etc. - "to the present and future issue of my Son John R. Rogers" Also gives Miss Sarah Sarah R. Threadcraft and Mr. Joseph T. Threadcraft certain properties.
Evidently Sarah (somebody) married a Yates - they had children. Mr. Yates died and Sarah married John R. Rogers and they had a son named John. Will was dated 1833.
Will states: Proved before D. Mitchell Esq OCTD 10, 1833 at same time qualified John R. Rogers Executor. December 1, 1857 before George Buist Esq OCD was qualified William H. Inglesby sole qualified Executor of John R Rogers deceased who was sole qualified Executor of Sarah Rogers deceased and entitled by representation to the Same"
So Sarah died 1833 and John (son) by 1857?
I am having a problem trying to separate Sarah Yates in SC and Sarah Rogers who came to Louisiana in 1810 as a widow with 7 children. If anyone is researching the Jeremiah or Joseph Yates, children of Sarah Yates, and has information that might be of help to me I would appreciate hearing from you at my e-mail address.
