My Shong ancestors are in Defiance County, Ohio. According to 1870 and 1880 census information: David Shong (b. abt 1840 in Ohio)m. Martha (unknown last name, also of Ohio and similar age). He was a carpenter. Their children were Wesley, Alsada, Jennie and Chauncey. Alsada married Warren James Kaser (these are my great-grandparents). They were Church of the Brethren, and someone mentioned a related church.
Does anyone know how my Shongs are related to the Shongs discussed on this thread?
