I started looking for my Gabica roots much like yourself and the journey finally took me to the small town of Gabica in the Basque country of Spain (near Erreno & Guernica). Unlike the old days of scouring European church records, you can now simply contact the geneology department of the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. They have copies of any and all church records/etc. from that area in Spain. Good luck in your search---Roger Gabica
