In Response To: Re: Sharkey (B Omalley)

Hi again. Yes I know there are literally hundreds of Sharkey's in Annagry, I have been sifting through most of them for years.

I will start with the earliest Sharkey in my family and come down in a direct line to my Great Great Grandfather. There are so many that branch off from these it will take forever to send.

Eamonn Rua Sharkey b. abt 1776 in Annagry Village
d. ? Annagry Village, buried Cruit Island Burial Ground.
Married: Ibby ? date unknown
Ibby is also buried in Cruit Island Burial Ground

Children are;

Andrew Sharkey b. abt 1796 in Annagry Village buried in Cruit Island Cemetery, Annagry
John Sharkey b. abt 1798 in Annagry Village
Isabella Sharkey b. abt 1800 in Annagry Village

Andrew Sharkey married:
Isabella ? 1816 in Annagry Village
Isabella Sharkey buried in Cruit Island Cemetery.

Children:

Una Isabella Sharkey b. 1817 Annagry Village
Eamonn Sharkey b. 1820
Jondy Sharkey b. 1821

Una Isabella Sharkey married: Frank Machadan O'Donnell b. 1815, Braade, Kinkasslagh, in 1840 in the Star of the Sea Church, Annagry Village.

Children :
Owen Frank O'Donnell b. 28 July 1841, Braade, Kinkasslagh. d. 17 August 1927, Widgee, Queensland, Australia.
Patrick O'Donnell
John O'Donnell
Maire O'Donnell
Anna O'Donnell
Isabella O'Donnell

Una Sharkey and Frank O'Donnell are both buried in the Star of the Sea Cemetery, Annagry Church.

Owen Frank O'Donnell is my Great Great Grandfather on my Mother's side of my famiy.

I have not been able to get much paperwork on any of the above as most of the info came from family members in Ireland and also from Church Records. I haven't researched any of the other Sharkey's in depth as I am trying to get my line straight back at present. Have some paperwork in my files somewhere for a few of the Sharkey's and who they married, but will have to dig them out.

I will be interested to see if any of this ties in with your Sharkey family.

Meantime Cheers for now Lee.
