Hi All,
I am hoping someone in here can help me in my search for the following family connections. I only started doing the family tree Nov'03 and have had a lot of help and even found family in various sites. Have now hit a few of those brick walls eveyone talks about so going back to basics hoping to confirm some of the data I have gathered.

CABLE Joseph b c1816 Leicester UK, married MURPHY Mary Jane. Came out to Australia per the 'William Hammond' in 1856 as a Pensioner Guard with at least two sons, John b 1849 (my gr grandfather) and William b c1847. I have the possible other children to Joseph and Mary:- Florence, Andrew, Joseph b 1860, Mary Jane b 1857 (my great grandmother) Edith, Arnold, Ernest, Edward and Elizabeth. Edward is the father of the footballer Barry Cable who played for Perth and Nth Melbourne.
PATTEN Arthur Edwin, unknown where from, was a policeman in the Geraldton/Greenough area in the 1860's. The story goes he employed Mary Jane CABLE, daughter of Joseph, she fell pregnant to him and had my g grandfather Arthur Edwin (no surname on birth cert) b 1879. He took on the Jones name after Mary later married a Thomas Ishmael (or Ishmail) Jones in Geraldton 1882, Western Australia. Mary's brother John was also a Policeman in the same area. Mary's son Arthur married John's daughter Grace even though they were 1st cousins!
FANNON Patrick b c1824 Athlone Co. Roscommon, Ireland. Married LYONS Mary in 1855. Mary b c1838 in Dublin Ireland. Patrick arrived Australia 1865 per the 'Vimiera' as a Pensioner Guard. They came out with at least two sons called Martin b 1863 and Michael b 1865. they went on to have the following children:- James b Nov 4 1867 (my Maternal g grandfather), Robert b 1869, Francis b 1874, Mary Terese b 1876, Patrick b 1878 and Bernard b 1881. Family settled in Western Australia.
REID Alexander married EDWARD Annie. Alexander b Scotland, they had at least one son called John b c1863 (my g grandfather). Family came out to Australia??? John married LEARY Mary Ann Elizabeth in Gympie, Queensland in 1890. John and Mary had the following children:- James Alexander b Apr 21 1891 (my grandfather), Mary b Jul 16 1893, (Both Qld) then John Hendry b 1904, Maggie (Margaret?), William, Thomas and Kitty (Kathrine or Kathleen? all born WA. Mary's parents are Michael Leary and Margaret DRISCOLL
