I have some news that our name was originally spelt as 'Beaumont' but it was misspelt on birth certificates and hence became 'Berment'. Also, the Beaumonts/Berments were originally from France and the Britos were of Spanish origin via Venezuela. It seems that Great-Grandfather Brito married a Venezuelan woman of Indio descent( either Carib or Warahoon or both) and subsequently migrated to Trinidad. We have no information on our grandfather except his name: Frances Alexander Berment.
Who can assist from here on?
