Dear Scott,

I was surfing the web today researching geneology of my mother's father and my husband's father (my husband was Douglas N. Trumbo, he died of ALS at age 45 in 1996), and I came across your message. His family grew up in Fulk's Run, VA., near Broadway. I have a copy of The Trumbo Family, by Conrad Feltner, but no where in the book is there an address you can write to to get a copy. It appears you and my husband are descended from the same H. Jacob Trumbo, as described in the book. He was from Alsace.My mother in law is coming here for two weeks on Nov. 15, I will meanwhile see if she or her sister in law has the address of the author so you can get this book. You are related to Dalton Trumbo, the blacklisted writer who wrote Johnny Got Your Gun, if you didn't know that already. Pass on any info you get -- I am thinking of taking my two kids to France and England to the birthplaces of their ancestors before they grow up and go off on their own!
