Hello Anne ,
I went on Google and entered "Ringrave ancestor" to discover that you had sent a note on this site. ma mother Solange Fernande Monier nee Ringrave had made very indepth searches before the computers were around . Howaver , In the early seventies , she went to Paris and knocked on the doors of the father of David Ringrave and gave him a family tree tracing all her discoveries. As she died since before I went back to France, it took me yaers and the acquisition of my firts computer to do some searchings . I was lucky to strike an answer from David who told me that it was his father , who died since, that my Mother went to see. So we got to communicate at lenght with the promise that he would get hold of a copy of the tree and send it to me. I am still waiting after a few years . I know how much of a busy man hi is as a corporate identity . He had the same stumbling block of figuring out who were the parents of Leon Ringrave . As I have no more family on the side of my mother , and that Australia is as far as it gets , I encountered some difficulties in establishing links with the Town hall of Beziers were all could be traced back as both of my grands parents were native of this town . They married there and died there too, They are also buried there. I have known Fernand Ringrave until age nine when he died in February of 56 following cancer of the throat as he was a heavy smoker. I know also of Guy through my mother who told me that his name was on the monument of the fallen soldiers in St Tropez during the 39/45 war.
I have a faint recollection that they were cousins. You could perhaps tell me if you contacted David or if you had some infos that could facilitate further piecing of the family puzzle. I am sixty years of age and have been living in Australia since the late sixties to escape the social unrests and wanting to be in a warmer place . I only went once back to France before my mother died . I am a single child . But I managed to bring back the number with eight children . I am located in the state of South Australia , north of Adelaide which is the capital of this region with a pop of more than 1 million of souls and with a climate similar to California.
