Hello, Jose,

Your ancestors are undoubtedly from Spain. My grandfather, Pierre Regla's parents were from Northern Spain, from a place called Huesca. According to what my grandfather told us, his father, Francois (perhaps Francisco and perhaps he adopted the French version) Regla was minor nobility. He fell in love with and married a commoner, a seamstress named Andrea (or Andressa, depending on the records I look at). His father disowned him for marrying a commoner and Francois and Andrea crossed the Pyrenees and settled in Oloron Ste. Marie in Southern France.

Francois died when my grandfather was in second grade and his mother married a Georges Maracco.
