I lived for two years in Dalaba, which is a town of about 20,000 people in the highlands of Guinea (Guinee), West Africa. Most of the people who live there are of Peul (or Puehl, elsewhere called Fula or Fulani) ethnicity; however, Dalaba is more often a middle name than a family one. Most people in Dalaba have the last name Diallo or Bah. The town's name is pronounced DAH-luh-buh; is this the same way that you pronounce it? I'm not sure if there's any connection between Dalaba and the Dalabas, but please let me know if there are any questions that I might be able to answer. Best of luck!
