I have Purfields in my family tree - they are from Battle/Woodchurch/Bexhill areas of Sussex - a branch went to Portsmouth (my family) in late 19th century. Not sure if there is any link with Irish Purfields - have only just started researching this side of my family. My great grandmother was Ellen Ann Purfield. Her paretns were Rose and Kenerick Purfield. Kenerick spent most of his life with the Royal Navy. Happy to send you what I have so far. Hope to have more shortly.
