I don't know quite how this would tie in with your family, Lyn, but I am currently researching someone by the name Martha Cinnamond, who married my ggg grandfather, John Nobbs, in Belfast in 1860.
In carrying out a parent search on the IGI for the couple in question, several births are recorded in the Clyde, Glasgow area from 1861 onwards, although there is a record for a birth in Belfast some years later. I don't know how accurate this information is, but I do have a copy of the 1891 census record from Govan, Glasgow, which has the following information:
Martha Nobbs, head of household, widowed, 49
George, son, unmarried, 17
Lennox, son, unmarried, 15
Edward, son, unmarried, 13
Elizabeth, daur, unm, 10
Charlotte, daur, unm, 5
Given the tendency to pass first names on from generation to generation, I wonder if this lot might be related to yours.
As far as Martha is concerned, I'm a bit stumped as I cannot find any records for her over here - obviously if she was born in Ireland they wouldn't be! Any information anyone has would be appreciated.
