So good to hear from you. My family was:
Mary; born 11 Mar 1880
Ellen; twin to Mary - born 11 Mar 1880
Patrick; born 10 or 11 Feb 1881
Johanna; born 2 July 1884 (my mother)
Abbey (Liz); born 1887
Denis; born 1888
Katie (Katherine); born 1890
Julia: twin to Katie) - born 1890
Cornelius; born 1891
Annie; born 1892
They ll came to the USA in the early 1900's except Cornelius (who died in Ireland about 1914) and Patrick who inherited the farm. His son, Jack, is still there, married with 4 sons.
Two of his sisters, Bea and Joan, live in NYC.
The siblings' father was Cornelius Sullivan, born 1846, and married 28 Feb 1878 to Mary O'Neil. I suspect William and Cornelius may have been first cousins. I believe Mary, my grandmother, was a cousin of Hallisseys.
Cornelius was the son of Denis (Dionsyus) Sullivan born 1809 and married to Ellen (Helena) Segurson. Not your typical Irish name.
If your parents still live in Kenmare, they must know my cousin, who still lives on the farm, Jack "Dandy" Sullivan. We are known as the Sullivan Dandys.
I was in Dublin last month trying to get the birth dates on my the family, but without luck. I did get information from the valuation office on how their land was passed down from generation to generation.
Where do you live? I am in Beverly, MA. Most of my mother's sisters, and one brother, lived in the Boston area. It is very difficult trying to get actual birth dates in Ireland. My father, born in Newburyport, was of Swiss-French-Canadian heritage and I have traced his family back to l609.
I would appreciate hearing from you.
