Dear Maryanne,
there is perhaps one additional thing that I may add..now that you speak of the states,I recall that when a was a child in the fifties that my father and my grand mother had regular correspondence with an "aunt" who was living in the States. I don't recall where she was living and if my memory is correct she died in the late fifties early sixties.
I did not tell you that my grand father who was a carpenter had moved from San Biagio firstly to UK and then to Kenya before in the early twenty century coming back to Italy and establishing,to my best knoledge, in Cassino.I bear the same christian name as my grand father.
