Notes for SAMUEL D. PAGE:
This family had several boys named Samuel and Robert. Samuel spoke only the French language. He later learned to speak English as his second language.
Samuel and his family lived almost on the Indiana-Illinois state line, and births in Clark Co., Illinois were reported in Indiana, thus the reason they were listed as born in Indiana and not Illinois. They lived right across the Wabash River on the Illinois side, but state lines didn't mean too much back then. PP.

Some of the family started using the fake surname of O'Page during this generation and changed their name from Page to O'Page. This was done so that others could not identify them as the Page's who were "Indians." However, all their records and tomb stones on their graves use the surname of Page. PP.

Notes for GRACIE MABLE REESE:
Gracie was 70 years old when she died in November 1963. I believe Gracie was born in 1884. Gracie had a 1/2 brother named Earl Reese, and he and Gracie had the same fathers but different mothers. Earl said Gracie had to marry another Indian and Earl took Gracie to Patrick, who was older than Gracie, and played match maker. Patrick and Gracie were soon married when Gracie was only about 15 years old. PP.
Note: In this case Grace would have been born in 1894-1897 and not 1884. BKL.
Grace and Lyman had 5 children together, four of whom lived to adulthood. PP.
