Hello Sheryl,
I am Greg's cousin Tina (Bagalio) LaForest. My parents are Steven Arthur & Pamela Marsha (Weeks) Bagalio. My dad passed away in May, 1975, he he was a lineman for Green Mountain Power Corp.
I have been researching the Bagaglio/Bagalio family also, for a few years now.
I have been writing to the archives in Mercallo, Italy and have recieved the birth certificate for Pasquale Bagalio, his parents marriage certificate, as well as a list of Pasquale's siblings.
Just a few days ago, with the help of a woman named Lucia, whom lives in Italy, and helps with some research (for a small fee), has helped me obtain copies of records on the Bagaglio family going back three more generations from Pasquale's parents. With out her help, I'm not sure if we could have obtained such records, as these are archived in the church in Cimbro, Vares, Italy. They are a little more difficult to get.
By the way, I was always curious as to whom sponserd great nonna and nonno Bagalio on the wall at Ellis Island! now I know.
I too have always wanted to get to Mercallo, but need to be a little more financially secured before making that trip!
