Hi,

Just browsing the web and saw your link, don't have any solid information, but was interested to know where in England this John Finch came from? My father's name is Samuel Graham Finch, his father is John Finch (89), his Father was Samuel, and his father John. We have a picture of My great great Grandfather and his wife Maria sitting outside their cottage in Devon. A little Later than the period you are looking at, but I was interested anyway!
