Court Finniss was baptised 11th December 1748(with Richard Tunbridge)at Acrise parish church, Kent. He married Ann Tunbridge by banns on 27th October 1781 at Acrise. John Sharpe and Robert Court were witnesses. They had a daughter Ann, bap. 3rd Sept 1783 at Acrise and Court's wife Ann was buried at Acrise age 37 on 12th September 1783.
Court then married Frances Knott of Dover by licence dated 18th September 1784.
They had a son, John Finniss baptised 5 November 1785. ( He went to Mauritius - thats another story). Frances died - I know not when - and Court married Elizabeth Hoil at St Mary's church, Elham on 3 October 1798. Richard Tunbridge was one of the witnesses. Court and Elizabeth had 7 children, the eldest being a Court Finniss baptised on 23 December 1798!!
I have all the documents to support these events.
I have not come across a Charles Court Finniss yet. There were several Finnis families (as well as different spellings)in Kent around this time, but these are my ancestors via John Finniss of Mauritius.
