Hi Melvyn,
I'm a Revitt originating from Sheffield and I remember as a child visiting Stannington cemetery and being amazed at all the Revitt names on the tombstones there. I've always wondered about the origin of our name but have never managed to find out anything about it, which is why I was so delighted when I saw your message. May I ask you how you found out this information - about the reverend with the many children - and also if there is any way of finding out more details about this early Stannington family.
Are you related to any of the Sheffield Revitts by any chance?
