Brother adopted at birth

Posted By: Charles Peterson
Date: 12/30/03

My mother had a son before she was married. Her name was Mary Alice Barnett. She went to Kansas City to have her son and gave him up for adoption there. He would have been born in 1945 I think. His father was a soldier stationed at the military base at Independence,KS and that was also where she lived. She lived with an aunt in Kansas City until the baby was born. She desperately wanted to keep her son but her mother would not let her. Mary Alice Barnett is deceased but she had 5 children who have just learned about the baby after she was deceased.
