In Response To: Re: adoption/black market? (sharon throgmorton)

I am running into the same situation. My mother is deceased, but she had a baby girl on 2-6-46 at a Catholic hospital. She was told that the baby only lived 2 hours. There is no death nor birth certificate. Something is wrong there. I had written asking for Mom's hospitalization records, not knowing what year it may have been at that time. I learned the date later on. I received a couple of notes from them over a couple of months, reassuring me they were still looking for those records. Then all of a sudden out of the blue I got a blunt note saying they do not have any "old" records. I think my grandmother put the baby up for adoption through the nuns while my mother was still under anesthetic.
