If you go into
www.familysearch.org (that is a free site)
just type in RHONE, if you don't have any info only type in RHONE in the surname and press enter or ok and you will get a lot of information from that, probably a couple of pages on RHONES. Drop down box (all countries) or you could go into individual countries and you will get a lot of info.
Actually my ancestors I have been told by a relative in Sydney Australia that they come from Prussia (Germany) then went onto France, Wales, England. From England my grandfather Albert Rhone came out to Australia with his brother John Rhone. One grandson of JOhn Rhone lives overseas and had the Rhone shield made up in Germany. You mention German, French connection would be interested to know more on that if possible.

There is also www.ancestry.com you can get some info there on the Rhones for free but some of it you have to pay, it is not very much.
There are some other sites but not sure which country you are in, have a few sites for England. uk.
