Looking for history of name
Posted By: Sherrie D. Larch Date: 9/29/04
My father's last name was Larch, which I'm trying to find some history on. It seems to be listed as a Rare Old German/Yiddish/Hebrew surname (meaning tree), and has a strong Jewish ancestry. Also is related to the surnames Larcher, Larchinsky, Lorch, Lurcher, Lurcher, Larca and others. Most of where I have found it's orgins, are Germany, Poland, Galicia area, Russia, Austria, Spain, Italy, and have found Holocaust records on some who have one of the surnames I have listed. Also looking for relatives, distant or close. So if anyone has info., please e-mail me at: FireLighter5@hotmail.com
