My family was never that big into heritage, but I remember my grandfather once saying a few things. Our name started as Kuhn, which is a city in Germany (that's where my family is from), then somehow went to Von Plikuhn. That was apparently some duke in our family. When my great great grandfather came to America was when they just took the "Von" off. He told me this when I was very young, so I know its pretty obscure and could be totally made up. I just thought I would mention it. I just started wondering where I came from myself.
