I know next to nothing about my family history above my parents generation, however I thought it might interest you to know that I live in county Antrim, Northern Ireland, and as far as I know my paternal grandfather Henry Creaney was born in Belfast to Northern Irish parents. However there is supposed to be a french female among his relatives (his grandmother, I believe).
Also, he changed the spelling of his name by choice to Creaney after he divorced my grandmother (deceased). My father and three uncles still spell their names Craney. Two of those uncles live in NI, one is in australia, the other one I believe lives in Ontario.
Lastly I thought it might interest you to know that of the 7 or 8 telephone numbers in the phone book for Northern Ireland under the name Craney/Creaney, my father and mother account for four.
