The surname "Stajduhar" is an occupational name derived from the Croatian word "Staja", which is a pen, station or enclosure for domestic animals. Austria, Slovenia, and Dalmatia have been suggested as places of origin for the first one to have this surname. However I believe that all with this surname can be traced back to one small village in the Gorski Kotar area of Croatia.
