I am wondering if the Gatz family you have mentioned might be related to mine. My great grandad Peter Gates (Gatz) came from Germany to England in about 1878 -1880 he was married to Clara Butow (various variations to this name). They married in around 1877 -1878. I am wondering if Peter could have been a brother to franz ? there is also a possible John and Willim who may have been brothers to Peter. i'm guessing these names were English variances. I have no concrete evidence that Peter and Clara came from Gatz but if you have any information I would be very grateful
