Ancestry of "Lizza"

I am Black, was on ancestry.com and discovered that my great grandmother's moms maiden name was "Lizza". This sounds Italian to me, but I never thought Italian as a possible heritage of mine. I am wondering if Lizza is only an Italian name or could it maybe have been a distortion of an African surname.
