In Response To: Papacek, Sokola family names (Kovacs Istvan)

I'm researching Papaycik/Papajcik, and it comes from a town called Vysoka Nad Kyusucou in Slovakia. I've seen the Papacek spelling before and it seems to be Czech. Most of this Papacek spelling turns up in Chicago, Illinois in the early 1900's. However, sometimes MY family was recorded with this same spelling. My family ended up in Philadelphia, Pa and Camden, Nj. Let me know if this helped...
